Lissenden Dog Show 2015
John Crouch had an idea to hold a dog show for local residents so with the support of the LGTA we organised “The Not Too Serious Dog Show”.
It was a fabulous day for all the dogs and their humans too! Many people contributed their time to make the day run smoothly including John Crouch, Natasha Nuttall, Frank Chalmers, Ross, Nicola Stabb and lots of other people too. The British weather came through too with some late summer sun.
Local residents baked delicious cakes and Nell lent her urn for tea which helped to raise money for our chosen charities. In total we raised £137 to donate to Medecins Sans Frontieres and All Dogs Matter.
Every dog in every category won a rosette, promoting a good feeling whilst the winners and runners up of each group won some doggy treats donated by Dawn from the Mutt Hut and Lily’s Kitchen.
Allan Rapley, who owns and operates Highgate vet in Highgate Village, joined Dawn from the Mutt Hut at Gospel Oak to judge all the wonderful dogs that entered the competition. Thank you to Dawn and Allan for spending their Sunday with us and for doing such a good job. Thank you also to Roy Batt, Crystal Palace (North London Branch) and Medecins Sans Frontieres for sponsoring us.
Everyone had a really fun day with all ages represented at the show. We hope to do it all again next year!
